ascapit

“ascapit” is an Aromanian word. Its meaning in English:

verb

  1. to set, go down, disappear behind the horizon

Etymology

From a Vulgar Latin or Late Latin excapitō (meaning "decapitate" in its attested form, but the Romance descendants may derive from an unattested sense of "to conclude, finish, reach the end of" which developed later, or possibly "to decrease, diminish"), from Latin caput. Compare Romanian scăpăta, scapăt, Italian scapitare, cf. also Megleno-Romanian dăscapit, dăscăpitari.
