Schrijver suggests that this term may exemplify a proposed type of derivational process whereby, at least in Italo-Celtic, the *-yeti suffix (from which derives the Latin fourth conjugation) was added to an athematic base, with a resulting factitive meaning akin to "bring about that one is the object of X."
