Inherited from Malay اوندق (undak), from Javanese ꦲꦸꦤ꧀ꦝꦏ꧀ (undhak, “to raise, to rise; to add”), from Old Javanese uṇḍak (“to rise”), probably ultimately from Proto-Mon-Khmer *[ɗ]ək (“to stand up, to go up”).
